Book to Movie

Everything Is Illuminated
The DOP did a dope job. Same with Eugene Hutz. I wanted to do many premium carnal things with Alex. Everything else was meh. Oh yeah, the Ukraine is beautiful. I've read the book and the only impreessive parts for me were the explanation of the title and all of Alex's parts. I hate to say it but the book was still better than the movie.

Howl's Moving Castle

I really like Studio Ghibli's stuff, but I'm no fangirl of Miyazaki-san. Mind you, I haven't seen Spirited Away, but so far this is my fav movie by him. The fantastic elements aren't too intrusive, and who doesn't love a simple love story involving wizards and witches, war, and Christian Bale's husky voice? I'm really curious as to what the book is like.

Thumbsucker

SEE THIS MOVIE.
That is all. The more I think about it the more I love it. I MUST read this book. Seriously, do yourself a favor and see this movie. I don't know where to begin with how good it is. The cast, the cinematography, the performance, the script, the direction. Sure, you'll glance over at the imdb and say, "The cast? Keanu Reeves is in the movie. How good can the cast be?" First, I must admonish you for ignoring Vince Vaughan, Vincent D'Onforio, Benjamin Bratt, and the always amazing Tilda Swinton. Secondly, say what you may about Mr. Reeves' skill as an actor, but you can't ignore the fact he chooses great movies/scripts. Also, Lou Pucci debut as an actor in the film is wonderful. Absolutely amazing work.
I noticed I hadn't posted in a while and since this was where I wrote about what I've been reading I decided to give it another try. But I realized I haven't read a full novel in quite a while. I look at my journal (the hand written one) and realized that the last book I read was actually a short story.

It was Auggie Wren's Christmas Story by Paul Auster. I've been reading bits and pieces of books, but I haven't finished one lately.

So what have I been doing? I'm working on a standard operating procedures (S.O.P.) for one of my jobs. That keeps me busy.

I'm knitting another beanie from Stitch 'n' Bitch Vol 1. I love knitting them, but I can't wear them now because of the heat and my afro. Between those and all the scarves, I can't wait for winter! I've lined up a few projects after this one. I need to post pictures of what I have knitted. And I've just learned to crochet.

I've watched quite a few movies. I've talked about some of them on another blog of mine, and I hate to rehash the same stuff. They can be classified according to movies based on books and those that aren't. That is the next post.

I'm Still Cheating

Not only do I have a lj account, but I also have a myspace account. Yep, I'm a dirty slut. Sorry, blogger, but you'll always be my first love.

Because diaryland didn't count.

Nah, diaryland did count. I just forgot my pasword. :.(

I should actually write stories. Or just finish the porn.
