Mavs

Last night the Mavs beat the Suns (101-99). It was a gripping game that had come down to a tie, but Dirk Nowitzki made the game-winning long two point shot. I like Mavs vs. Suns games not only because of the high scoring (this was kind of low by usual standards) but also because Steve Nash comes back. He's my favorite player; mostly because of his time with the Mavs. Dirk & Steve's friendship was so cute - and so close. Once over at OhNoTheyDidnt, there was a report about a gay basketball player (*cough*NewJerseyNetsforwardgaurd*cough*), and some chica and I started joking at how it wouldn't be surprising if it was Dirk and Steve. Then came the jokes about Nowitzki/Nash slash.

And they were only jokes!!!

What? You thought I was going to put up those photos of them drunk? Nope. Here's to auld lang syne, which is old Scottish for "old, long time." And on that note have a safe and happy New Year (including the celebrations preceding it).

Also, do yourself a favor and google the lyrics for "Auld Lang Syne."

What have you done with your life that's so great?

I've been asking myself that question. Sometimes when I think I'm going to make a decision, I start to backtrack and question myself.

Anyways, it reminds me of what I read in Buddhism Plain and Simple by Steve Hagen. To paraphrase him, all the big decisions in life are easy to make; it's the small ones we dither and second guess. He uses his cancer diagnosis as an example. Of course, he has no problem deciding to go on chemo.

So maybe, right now, what job/career do I want isn't the big question in my life. I just need to focus on the little daily steps right now.

Happy Holidays

Since my birthday is two days before Christmas and I'm a Buddhist, I don't exactly consider this the most wonderful time of the year. So,I'm going to let this stand as my concession to holiday cheer.
