Always George

George
You scored 51 George, 22 Paul, 11 John, and 14 Ringo!

You are a saint. Life is a river. You are aloof, always in the corner, always thinking. You exude confidence And insecurity at the very same time. People are drawn to you...but not too close. They like to get within 3-6 yards at parties, just to observe you. But something about the way you're leaning against that wall, or looking up at the ceiling, makes you difficult to approach. Your dreaminess makes you the calm, steady one. The waves are high and turbulent, but your ship is strong. It does not, however, have much of a direction. Lost in the blurred euphoria of your spiritual oblivion, you lack the focus to really accomplish something important. You're here, there, and everywhere, but, at the same time, nowhere. You are the Nowhere Man: Unobtrusive, mysterious, attractive in your own way. But, ultimately, you'll never be our best friend unless We put forth the effort, or unless something very serendipitous happens to bring us together. You know you are good...real good... but you are surrounded by greatness. This, in your heart of hearts, bothers you. So you construct a reality in which 'material' or 'petty' things like that don't matter. You don't like to put your finger on things, to define them succinctly...because to think like this, you'd have to face the fact that you're just not as good as your friends at certain things. So you say vague things like 'Something in the way' instead of pointed, specific things like 'why don't we do it in the road' or 'she came in through the bathroom window' or 'Eleanor Rigby picks up the rice in the church where the wedding has been' etc.etc.etc.etc. ad infinitum. You look like Jesus, act like Buddha, sing like a melodic Dylan, and smell like ostridges. And Eric Clapton stole your woman. Haha...He was a better guitar player, neeener neener neeeeener. (But, you're right, he is more of a douchebag, just playing lame smokey-blues riffs and singin' like a wet fruitcake...but that's what the women like, ya here?) Ohhowyummymakemehum

sunshiny

From 07/2006 "In the Spirit" in Essence magazine

When you release the need to be right, or first, or perfect you break the chains that lock down your happiness, you untie the knot in your stomach, undo the traumas of the past.

Who we become isn't who we are, but who we've been taught we should be.

A new world is on the way, and to give birth to it, we must honor this sacred contract with ourselves. Spirit is calling you to pledge allegiance to yourself
Weezer has broken up?? Why am I only now discovering this? WTF? I didn't even know I cared about them this much till I heard the news. Why?

Anyways, here's my thought for the day.

"Everything in the universe has a purpose. There are no misfits, there are no freaks, there are no accidents. There are only things we don't understand." - Marlo Morgan

I promise to start writing again. I can't keep doing this two part-time jobs bullshit. I'm so exhausted.

Up to date

I've just finished reading My Antonia. It started out good, but then I grew fustrated with how much that book was of its time (e.i. racism) and the fact that Jim and Antonia never ended up together. However, I like the structure, the framing device, and the short chapters.

Yesterday I watched Red Eye and Brokeback Mountain. Red Eye was an enjoyable thriller. Good acting and direction, but it really didn't transcend the genre.
Brokeback Mountain was amazing. It truly was epic in its scope and its themes. I can't believe it didn't win best picture! I loved the short story and I was surprised to say I love the movie just as much if not moreso. They stretched out the story without wearing me out (although I think making the film over two hours almost wore out my bladder.) And the performances! Wow! However I could have done without seeeing Princess Mia's nipples. (I'm so scarred for life.)

I've been meditating for 5 minutes every morning. It's a good thing to do, and it makes me feel better every morning.
